the great vowel shift is taking me out.

and who in their right mind transcribes the word "and" with a 7? "7" /= "&", no matter how close they are on the keyboard. Silly old brits.

on a slightly more serious note, this whole shifting of the vowel is really screwing with my mouth.

festus is finally starting to smell like himself again. he'd been smelling of vet. a vague sort of antiseptic and gurney scent that wasn't bad, but wasn't festus.

and he has been "scratching" like mad on the cardboard scratcher he hated so much. he chases charlotte away from it so he can ineffectually rub his poor little stumps on it. i want to cry.

but back to the vowels. these hormones shall pass, and so too shall the guilt.
