update from home-home
had been thinking i was going back to dirt town on the 5th. nope. 2nd. but i really don't want to go back to any of that yet. why?
here's what's waiting for me in dirt town:
-potentially hellish semester
-apt that still needs a good cleaning (and not the half-assed cleaning i gave it before going home-home)
-cat problem (it will be hard to give festus the boot, but it will be harder to explain a two-foot square of carpet that is completely bare, let alone the rest of the carpet... time away from his angelic snub-nose and chin butting means i can make a logical decision based on fact and rationale, instead of insisting that eventually the destruction will stop)
-some busy work assigned between semesters for reasons unknown to me
-lack of people (so i got used to having folks all over the place, without the hassle of transporting them)
-did i mention the empty, haphazardly cleaned apt where destructive kitty will be trying to convince me to keep him?
honestly, this is the first vacation i've had in a year and a half. that last summer? thesis crunch. that last christmas? running back and forth while granddad died (on christmas morning), and then running back and forth playing funeral. summer before last was a real break that lasted a whole week. otherwise, it's this. and now it's over.
it wouldn't be so bad, except that i really did think i'd be leaving friday. tuesday is just so much earlier than friday now.
sigh. at least i can now crochet the edges of my knitting. mom managed to teach me the basics. i'm not so good with spacial things, and still get it backwards about a third of the time.
well, i'll blog on the flip side.
love and peace
