cat mama
getting charlotte into her carrier was a matter of surprising her and not letting go. relatively loud, but also relatively easy.
dear festus had learned from his sibling's error, however. he hid under the bed. i poked at him. begged him. reached under to grab him. shoved a box or two under there to get him to leave. no success.
one long howl of rage from the BEAST chased him from the bedroom into the living room, where he sheltered under the futon. little bugger. i closed the bedroom door.
at this point, the BEAST approached the futon, and let out a mighty roar. festus fled in abject terror, and took cover in the closet in the study. i closed the study door, trapping him with the carrier of doom and the BOSS of BEAST.
still, it took quite a lot of chasing around the study to obtain a hold on anything more substantial than poor festus's leg or tail. he's never been so active in his life, i imagine.
finally, i cornered him and wrestled him inside the carrier of doom.
charlotte snubbed me at the boarding place, and festus wouldn't look at me.
my cats hate me.
i only hope they will have forgotten it all by the time i pick them up in january. when asked whether they should be caged together, i said no. they fight all day long, but seem to enjoy it. they'll be caged adjacent to one another, though. so at least they'll still know each other.
i left them with food, toys, and a mini insurance policy. if they get sick, they're covered for up to 150 bucks a piece. for one charge of 7 bucks a head, i think that's pretty good. so the total when i get them back will be about $321.50. my, oh my.
i miss them already.
love and peace
