Strange dream

I was teaching my last class of the semester to a combination of all the students I’ve taught whose names and faces I can put together. We sat in a room with couches, not desks, and were eating Easter candy and tortillas while discussing assignments. Each student had a rough draft, and I went around the room personally commenting on each one. The others were quiet during this, learning how to correct similar problems in their own papers. At one point, I noticed distinctly that I was wearing a button-up cotton t-shirt, very thin and summery, with a pair of khaki pants that either had a drawstring or were flat-faced. I know they weren’t pleated. The last thing I taught them was how to quote something that was incorrect. The whole “[sic]” thing. They got a kick out of that, and asked it they could use it for peer critiques.

Then my phone alarm went off and my nap was over. Bizarre that my brain would choose to spend its only sleeping time dwelling on something I found so unpleasant the last part of this semester. Maybe that was its way of reassuring me that the next semester would be better. In any case, I don’t feel quite so upset about teaching next semester, and during the summer, I’m going to see what those cotton shirts run me. It looked and felt so comfortable.

Looks like I got the CLEP job. More details when I’ve got time.

Love and Peace
