Chicken Riddle Intro

Well, I finally dug out the old Spectrum newspapers I’ve been carting around since JR was at Seminary. And for grins and giggles, I thought I’d share some with you.

So every time I blog from now until Revelation, I’ll throw in a book of this article. For now, you get only the intro.

We’ve all heard the old riddle: “Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side!” But using accepted methods of textual criticism, what might this riddle look like if written by Biblical authors? So with the knowledge that Jesus had a sense of humor when He was here, I submit that the answers might be something like this:

McCulley, Darrell A. "Historical-Critical Method Should Apply to Classics, Too." Spectrum 26 September 1997: 3.

Now how's that for an intro? This guy actually lived next door to us while we were there, and had a parrot that greeted him (and us) whenever the doors opened. What can I say? The walls were thin. Ah, good times.

And now I'm off to grade etc.

Love and Peace
