Oh, Today, Today.
On tap for the rest of today is:
-more knitting
-a trip to Dillards, where there's a sale on shoes (just looking, but if there's a pair of shoes I'd have cried over at $40 that now costs only $12, well things happen)
-a trip to either get eyebrows waxed, or to drive Jamaicans to get eyebrows waxed, or possibly both
-a trip to the English building for part two of LotR (a smashing success for all audience members. We did a much kinder MST3K sort of thing, where talking at the characters was accepted. Quite fun. Ems, you missed out on the only time I've not been upset by the kind of talking you enjoy to do during movies.)
-cleaning of the bedroom, plus taking out of trash
-more Brunswick stew, because it's good, it's prepared, and it's nearing lunch
On the health news front, two things.
The good: yesterday afternoon, the twinge of doom settled upon my body, and 1 gallon of water plus 1/2 gallon of cranberry juice has seemed successful. Three cheers for cranberry juice!
The bad: during the movie, my wrist shifted. I think I was lifting something, but I'm not sure. What I do recall was the squidgy feeling of things moving in my wrist that shouldn't or don't ordinarily move. And now, the pain. Same as before, but not as bad as I let it get before. I've checked the dates on the Celebrex, and since I've still got about a week worth from the last dr. visit, I'm taking one a day. I'm also wearing the brace. Took the thing off this morning to "shower" and I'm afraid I'm in for the long haul. It was not happy with me. Lots of little pops as I took off my PJs.
Back to the brighter, lighter side of things, I decided to go ahead and start a new blog. It's going to be a joint blog, a diary of things soapish going on in Dirt Town. This is still my main blog, though, so you probably won't miss anything by sticking to this. Check out the profile page for the soap opera.
I really feel sorry for my neighbors across the way. They must be miserable. First off, they had to stay in Dirt Town for spring break. I know it's very quiet here, and that has got to put a strain on them. Truly, I thank God that they have an outlet at three am, when the quiet gets to be too much for them. On top of staying here and being so quiet, one of their friends is here, too. His story is even more tragic. His girlfriend broke up with him this morning, very early, and he had no recourse but to yell at her. When all was said and done, the poor thing broke down and began whining that "it wasn't fair that she always got so mad" and "what do you mean it's final this time? You've gotta take me back!"
The final straw for these poor souls was that one of my other neighbors opened a window and began screaming obscenities at them for their breaking of the peace. I mean, that's uncalled for, really. The poor kids had to stay in Dirt Town of all places during glorious spring break. They could have been boozing on the beach and sampling the bare titties, but instead they're stuck in a dry city miles away from the nearest liquor with nothing but dust storms to keep them company. And this kid's girlfriend broke up with him. He has a right to scream and cry and whine at 3:30 in the morning. Don't let's be so harsh on the poor thing. He needed a hug right then.
Ah yes. The joys of apartment living. Well, that's the news. I'm off to pick up some stuff here and there, and then to pick up the Jamaicans for shoe-looking. Have great days!
Love and Peace.
