Produce!
I made a big pot of beans and sausage, which should last the whole weekend long and freeze well to boot. The soup is great; I just had a bowl of it. The cat got a small handful of sausage as well, and she's purring away as she stretches out on the back of the futon.
After heading home at about two-thirty am (more talking...), I drove to Walmart to buy the beans. I ended up buying a can of salmon, a box of saltines (got some salmon patties coming up!), the beans, and a few other things. Total came to 12.45. That's a pretty small check, isn't it? How likely is it that someone would call that in? I mean, really. Well, the answer is that Walmart would call it in. And guess who pops up in my story next? No, take a guess! Here's a hint: I've dealt with this company before.
That's Riiiight! Enter the TeleCheck Bastards! (applause optional) So I also spent the morning on the phone with TeleCheck, protesting their block on my check writing. I made sure they called my bank this time. I gave them a number and asked to be placed on hold as the woman called it. She did, and then she took the hold off. I thanked her profusely, and left with my latest victory.
The debates are wrapping up now, and when they're over I'll have another thing to cross off my lists.
I've caught up on my readings for pedagogy 2, and I've done about half of the reading for pedagogy 1. No more grading today, although that's on the list for later tonight.
I was planning to take Charlotte to the vet today to see about her swollen lip, but the vet I'd planned on didn't take walk-ins, so I'll have to schedule that. I did manage my own walk-in appointment, so I still accomplished a doctor's visit, even if the patient in question changed.
I'll do some more reading tonight, and then grade, grade, grade. Part of me feels I'd get more done if I went up to campus, but I've already had one late night up there, and while I could park exceptionally close to the building, I'd rather just stay here.
So, I'm off to grade stuff, and all that.
End.
