Movie Night X Two

Charlotte is watching the bettas. She sits up there on the table for hours on end, crouched and ready, just watching. I've got heavy books on top of the bowls, although she has shown no desire to get the fish out. I cleared the table so she'd have room to shimmy around to the other side. She occasionally will chase the fish to the other side of the bowl. It's fun to watch.

Well, we (that would be the entire class) can't figure out what readings we have for Tuesday. Professor Guh mentioned readings, and said that if the packet wasn't out by Friday we'd have the readings put off until Thursday. I don't recall page numbers being brought up in class, and a friend has "reading for Tues:__" written down. An appalling blank to have in one's notes. We've asked around, and no one seems to know. The syllabus is online, but when we click on the link, it shows us a screen indicating that we've made a mistake, and that this is not the screen we're looking for. It's very frustrating. The whole system is like that, so hi-tech that nothing works.

In lieu of readings, a friend and I decided to go to the movies. There is a dollar theater of sorts in town, playing old movies. We elected to see Harry Potter III, and it was not bad at all. I object, however, to their using Shakespeare for the song. I'm not sure why, it just doesn't seem to fit, when I consider the rest of the play. Perhaps if there were stronger connections between the movie and the play, it wouldn't be so odd. But that's just me.

And that would be the end of my day. I got back just a half hour ago, and figured I might as well try to grade some papers before Sunday. I'm one short in critiques, but three ahead in drafts. Go figure.

I'm off to bed, so I'll blog again later.

End.

Don't the fish need air? Just a thought. When she gets older and stronger the books will not keep her out of the bowls if she decides to go after the fish. Right now she probably thinks they are fun to watch. sr
