Help! He Eats Hair!
I finally have him litter box trained. He was having some problems there, the vet says he was weaned too early. But he's using it on his own now, with only a little prompting. I count this as a good thing.
My little "drizzit" also sleeps. All the time, except when I'm trying to. Then he's awake and playful. Go figure. I've bundled up the power cords in a big hankie, and barricaded the whole mess behind a few paper boxes. He wouldn't let them alone, and really don't want his last sound effect to resemble his name. That would be bad. It would also damage my cords. So no one wins there.
My hair has just been freed from the furball of doom. He's scampered off to terrorize his water dish. Good for him, I say. My ear still hurts.
On a new note: He's baaaaaack!
I delivered my mail today, or at least, took it to people who would deliver it. Paying bills is fun! Anyone agree? Anyone? I thought not. I also took back my movie, Cowboy Bebop. I didn't indeed watch it again before Thursday, because there are some very loud noises, and I didn't want baby Drizzt to startle. He was already upset enough with me for leaving him alone while I shopped for his carrier. I'm going to start weaning him from me so that I can go to classes and he won't be too upset.
The parents are coming to stay for a few days early next week. I'll show them around (yeah right), and we'll eat at cool places. Now that's what I'm talking about. There are actually a few fairly cool things around here, but we'll be finding them together. I haven't had time to go explore yet ... in fact, I really haven't even had the desire to. I've still been feeling out my home turf.
And that about does it for the here and now. While it isn't particularly late or anything, I'll be signing off. Might as well get some reading in while the little one is sleeping. "Chow." End.

Don't worry sweetie, the hair eating thing is normal for young kittens, apparently, especially when they were weaned a bit young. It means he's bonding with his new mommy (the vet told me all about it when I asked). Diesel does it all the time, and it's a year later, so I don't exactly know what to do about it. I guess if it really bothers you a whole lot you could punish him for it, but since its kind of endearing I usually prefer to leave well enough alone, except in the middle of the night when I gently move him to the foot of the bed. BTW, Shasta/Drizzt sounds like a cutie.
Luv, Pandora!
