Dead Day Bliss

Today is "Dead Day." This is a holy day in the academic calendar, signifying a forced rest from classes. No professors are allowed to require a thing from students on Dead Day, and students can either use the day constructively to prepare for the finals that follow, or they can go out and get drunk at the Dead Day Happy Hours all across town. I suspect many of my colleagues are currently incapable of walking in a straight line. I, however, have elected to use this sacred day to clean my apartment, a chore I have been looking forward to for weeks. No really, people, I've been looking forward to it. I haven't had the time to do much more than put my dishes in the sink and run water over them. I certainly haven't had the time to vacuum, clean my bathroom, or do any laundry. So this is my Dead Day.

So far, I have slept in (a very important feature of Dead Day, in my book), intensively cleaned my bathroom, done a load of dishes, gathered towels and bed sheets for a trip to the laundry room, made a grocery list, picked up all the trash in the apartment and taken it out, cleaned off my desk, and swept the patio. Next on my list is to make that trip the laundry room, get everything off the floor and vacuum, retrieve, fold, and put away my towels and sheets, and watch Ocean's Eleven. Yes, that's part of cleaning today. I'll want a break by then. I probably ought to do all my laundry today, but it isn't very fun doing more than a few loads at a time. It gets old real quick. So since I still have some old T-shirts, I'll do more laundry on Friday.

And that's about it. Just having fun, kicking back, and cleaning house. End.

Here's hoping you had a very happy dead day. And its good that you slept in. By the way, which Oceans Eleven did you watch?
Have fun watching the roaches, and I will talk to you later.
