Laughter
Laughter is also a grocery store parking lot so full that cars are circling the place hunting for a spot. So full that there is a line five cars long to drive in from the street, and three cars long to drive in from the turn lane. It is that same parking lot three hours later, with the same problem.
Laughter is everywhere. I was a little late coming home today, and got to witness one of the follies of old age. I also got to avoid the zoo at United. Yes, I did need groceries. Yes, I'm out of eggs, bread, meat, canned tomatoes, pasta sauce, cheese, and vegetables. I'm out of granola bars, green chilies, fruit in a can, and grapes. I have no ingredients for the recipes on the menu this week (except the onion). But you know what? I can laugh.
Because rather than wade through aisles so thick with people as to resemble crunchy peanut butter, I got to wait in the turn lane for five minutes only before giving up and going home. I thank God for giving me laughter, or I'd have been in that parking lot. He helped me laugh again when I went back and found it just as busy. And I laughed while eating the last of my pickles with the last can of tuna. On the last tortilla, because it's the closest thing to bread I owned.
Yep. But it's been a happy evening. Tomorrow, I have one last gladware full of soup (that's lunch) and am going to try United again. If we end up laughing, that's alright. I can make beans. I have a lot of beans, and tons of spices (and an onion). Oh, and frozen corn, jam, and butter. All the old guy's got is a speeding ticket. Not much laughter there.
Happy laughing, folks!
Love and Peace
