Spasti-Cat
That is, I'm not sure what has gotten into Charlotte's eating habits. She used to be the normal cat, nibbling during the day, and returning to feast at night. The bowl had at least a fourth of a cup in it still come morning. Now, this is rarely the case. I'm not sure whether she nibbles or feasts, but she's eating the whole dang bowl during the day while I'm gone. I get back to three lonely kibbles and an actor convincing enough to get money donated to the African orphan fund [please don't take offense there, folks; it's harmless]. What pathos!
Mew! She's *dying* on the floor of the kitchen, rolling around and clutching at a belly swollen with hunger - or so she'd have me believe. I've got suspicions that her belly is swollen with kibble, and nothing short of divine insemination will result in kittens here, so she's only eating for one. That hasn't changed.
Neither has the amount of food given, regardless of the amount of kibble in the bowl every morning. Feeding time, amount, content, etc. has not changed. But silly Charlotte does everything in her power to obtain more kibble.
Funny thing: I observed her in the kitchen yesterday, gobbling kibble like the END was NEAR. She stopped, calmly walked to the carpet (does she realize that I like the current color and condition of this carpet?), and spat up her kibble. The bits weren't even soggy yet. By the time I cleaned up that grotesque blotch of gray matter, she was eating more kibble. Like nothing had happened.
I haven't found any more evidence of kibble gone counter-gravity, and it's got what might be called a distinctive aroma, so I'm pretty sure it's just a one-time deal. Unless in her quest for more kibble she's "making" more of it. Actually, maybe the nickname "Moo-Cow" is having a physical effect, and she's trying to chew cud. [shrug]
And there's the update. Yum.
Love and Peace.

If the strange eating continues you might want to call her vet. Cats do things for a reason even if we never know the reason. sr
