The Exodus from Dirt Town

... begins in eight hours. We have hotel reservations in each town where we're staying the night. We have detailed maps outlined in green. We have food, water, extra water (we're going to a desert, after all), a healthy car, and lots of sun screen (desert!). We're moving and shaking.

I've finished my grading (breathe an Hallelujah Chorus with me), have packed my bags (excepting toothbrush et al.), and have made plans for little Charlotte. All is well in my world.

Oh! And I painted my toenails. This is a great indication of happiness, as I am usually too stressed to do such a thing.

Dinner tonight was wonderful - Olive Garden - although there was a thirty minute wait for a table. We made the best of it, and asked for extra breadsticks every time the waiter came by. I think we must have eaten four or five apiece. Being my usual indecisive self, I ordered the Tour of Italy, but subbed the alfredo (yuck) for regular spaghetti. It was lovely. We were too full to order the fabulous desserts we had been planning on getting. A pity, that. The berry thing looked wonderful.

Afterwards, we toured the theaters to see if anything was playing. We had, due to the wait, missed our intended movie, and alas!-- there was nothing on for hours. So we sojourned to Aroma's, a local coffee shop, where we had delicious tea, cocoa, or coffee. A very relaxing, pleasant evening was had by all (judging by the satisfied expressions on the faces of the others), and I think this entire Bliss Week thing will prove very refreshing.

There will be pictures up when we get back, I promise. Until then, I will be a bit silent. Oh, and SR, I'll call when we get to the hotels/home, just to let you know how it's going and that we haven't died.

Take care all!

End.
