Fun, fun, fun

I just got back from a hockey game. There's nothing like a good hockey game to make one feel like a Roman. All we needed were a few lions and some prisoners. I spent the game mostly silent, due to my inability to root for the Cotton Kings, and the sheer stupidity of rooting for the other guys in the midst of rabid fans.

There was a tribute to CK number 24, because he managed to knee the Ice Bats' goalie in the head. Took the guy right out of the game, but not before the medics spent a few minutes trying to get him up. The Cotton Kings spent that time trying to beat him while he was all but motionless on the ice. The remaining Bats held them off and earned more penalties.

We won, by the way. The rest of Dirt Town was upset by this, but I'm not exactly rooting for the Kings, so all is well. The Ice Bats won 7 to 2. It was an embarrassment for the citizens of Dirt Town, and I kept my Austin pride well hidden, except for a few snide remarks and chuckles.

I also got a foot or two farther on the scarf I'm knitting (yes, I was the only knitter there, to my knowledge), and am nearly finished with the first skein of yarn. I'll get a picture of it for you some time. I'm currently working on that, a green practice thingy, the black and grey polka dot scarf, and a rainbow scarf that curls in on itself like a giant tube sock. I have yet to start my brother's scarf, since I want it to be something he'll actually wear, and to that end, I must manage something that doesn't look in the least bit feminine. This is turning out to be harder than I thought. Especially since I'm fond of working with soft and fluffy yarns. But I'll do it. All six feet of it.

I'll grade about ten drafts tonight, then call it a rest and go to bed. I have an early morning tomorrow, and that's why I'm not ice skating right now. Ah well.

End.
Actually, that is not the end. Apparently, this didn't go through when I sent it via email, so I'm re-posting the regular way. Wouldn't want to deprive anyone of their semi-daily reading material.

The real End.
