So sorry
AM has a birthday today, but she will spend it absorbing knowledge at the feet of Prostate, so we celebrated Saturday night. She wanted bread. Lots of bread. Breadsticks to be precise. So we went to a Pizza Hut since she proclaims their breadsticks to be the best around. We ordered a family order of breadsticks, a side of garlic bread, and a bit of pizza. The bread was all eaten, and we then retired to my apartment to play Balderdash. AM won, but only because the game is set up such that there can be no ties. She was first in line to move her piece, so she got there a whole two seconds or so before K. It was a fun game. I recommend it.
Then yesterday I just decided not to get online at all. I had a relaxed sort of day with a bit of knitting and a lot of Dickens on tape. A lot of it.
Oh yes. Saturday I spent two hours in the library copying the stuff for nest week. Two hours. One week. From three to five, for two days worth of reading. That's also about 20 bucks. I've discovered that it is indeed cheaper to print the stuff out, so next weekend, I spend a lot of time printing at the library. Yea fun.
Word for the day (like I'll do this regularly, huh?) is Paxwax. Real word. Real creepy meaning. No, it isn't peace to the turtle wax. It isn't a growing of peace, a spreading forth of it throughout the land. No, no. It's ... well, you go look it up and be surprised.
I'm off to eat lunch and then to head to school. I've got only about five first reads left (and none are in the system!), seven second reads left (and none are in the system!), thirty reviews left (and none are in the system!) and a negative number of critiques (although there are 59 in the system!). I've been grading lots today. Got one kid who thought a paper mill was a good source for his paper. Used a quote from one of the online papers there. Can we all say "Dumb Ass" together? I spent quite a long time informing him that those weren't what we in academia called reputable sources, and that they were suspicious at best. That they should be left alone. Hope he gets the message, because next time I see those sources in his writing, I'm going to flag him. (We can see their previous drafts when we grade as a first reader. I graded both his first paper and his second one, and I'll be able to see if I get his third one. He should probably hope not, because I haven't been too nice to him.)
That's about it for now. I'll be back later.
End.
