Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Here are my readings for this week. They can be found online, if you have a certain connection, a certain code name, a certain password, a certain desire to read them. It takes a certain knowledge to access these readings, and a certain will to go through the loops to get them. They certainly make it difficult.
Nevertheless, I have these readings currently, and am reading them this afternoon. They include Pricilla Wald's article "Imagined Immunities" and Thomas C. Timmrek's "Introduction to Epidemiology." They also include the following by Frost: "A Boy's Will," "North of Boston," three pages of letters, the two prose pieces "Dalkins's Little Indulgence" and "The Figure a Poem Makes." The include two thirds of the book "Globalizing AIDS" by Patton, and two chapters from Altic's book on the Victorians. Also two chapters of Erickson's book on the Victorians. Also a chapter from Sutherland's book on the Victorians. But this is all okay.
If anyone out there is truly bored, or has nothing to do with their days, these readings are placed in certain locations for your viewing pleasure. Certainly, you should take a look at them.
My little red car is having a radiator-replacement surgery today, which promises to be more expensive than I like to hear about, and I should be able to pick it up later today, if they call me.
I made soup last night. Lots of soup. And my gladware has somehow disappeared. So I have a large pot in my refrigerator waiting to be emptied for lunch in a few minutes. It's chicken and dumplings crossed with chicken and noodles. Has all the carrots and potatoes of the noodle soup, but with two cans of chopped biscuits as per the dumpling recipe. It is a rather fetching soup. Very colorful.
The neighbors from upstairs are, as I type, screaming insults at one another. She's accusing him of being angry with her, though she's the one doing most of the screaming, while he trudges up the stairs with a resigned step. I couldn't live with that woman. I'd kill her. If it ever gets too quiet up there, I'll ask if they've moved, and depending on the answer, I'll call to report a murder. It'll be my civic duty. Sort of.
That's about if for your blog today. I'll be reading, eating soup, getting a car, buying Tupperware, and maybe knitting some tonight.
End.
