Stress Relief, More Crime, and Cannibalism

It didn't fall through after all, people! I got in touch with the girl I eat lunch with, and she gave me her husband's number, so I could call him and talk about the robbery. Apparently, the girl who was at the counter quit the next day, so she wasn't available for comments. Great! Not that she quit or anything, but that I finally got my story. Now I can spend my morning on Tuesday at the actual place, and I'll be there at the same time the robber was there. He's (that would be manager I talked to) already told the people who work there that I'll be wandering around taking notes, so I won't get asked to leave the store. This is a good thing, as it gives me all of Tuesday night to write it up. And then on Wednesday I can plan for my presentation on Friday, and everything's finally looking up.

I was supposed to have a presentation next Monday, a paper that Thursday, a second presentation that Friday, a second paper that following Monday, and then a major group project and paper either the same day or the following. For one class. For the other class, a little narrative non-fiction piece of, oh, about fifteen pages. That week. So I'm really excited that my project got switched to this Friday. That means my paper will be due Monday, and that gives me time in the middle of that week to write my non-fiction. I was holding on the Gender article, but finally saw that it wouldn't work, so I traded it for a colleague's article on writing. And you know, I think either one will work for me. So it's not that bad that I missed out on Gender.

So. My stress has cleared, and now all my stuff is more spread out. That nap on Sunday I told you about, it was only temporary, like I said. I'm a maniac again. But now I'm a not-as-stressed-out maniac. Much more relaxed. And I'm not even listening to "The Swan."

Speaking of birds, I finished that chicken and dumplings yesterday, so I have to scrounge up something for dinner. Not potatoes, I think, or egg rolls. Maybe a whole lot of cheese sticks. While that sounds good enough, I think I might regret that later on. Oh well. I'm hungry, so I'll cut this post short. I might come back later and tell you what I had. Or I might get wrapped up in my readings, and leave you to speculate.

By the way, we had a discussion in writing class today about whether or not it was ethical to eat people. Two of us decided that as long as there wasn't a murder involved, it was fine to gnaw on some guy's ribs. The other two girls in the class were a bit more squeamish than that, and would have died if they were ever in a position like the Donner party. Did I spell that right? Oh well. Dwell on cannibalism, while I go fix myself something to eat. End.
