fun with cats

fever's down another degree. i hardly notice it at all anymore. headache is still strong, but without the fever, it's manageable. i'm not sore anymore, and my joints only hurt when i move around a lot. the voice came back a bit after the sleep, but by this afternoon it was gone again. the lady at walgreens didn't seem put out by my whispers though, and i managed to talk to my walking buddy on the phone briefly.

the new addition to my medicine cabinet is an expectorant. i'm not sure i like the dryness of these coughs, since every once in a while there's a burble hinting of something backed up in there. i figure if there's crud lurking in my lungs, i need to de-lurk it.

and if things are still generally shitty come monday morning, i'm calling for an appt.

i purchased a cheapo laser pointer while at walgreens. i figure for 2 bucks, it's a cheap enough cat toy and one that doesn't require a lot of exertion from me. currently, they both think it's hiding under the tv stand. the laser danced for a while and then started zipping under things for cover. to keep up the game, it would peek its nose out and zip out from under things, too. it didn't come out from under the tv stand. the cats have been circling, staring, crouching down for a long stalk. it's quite entertaining.

and on that note, i'm going to watch a movie, since that's what i turned the computer on to do in the first place. i want to be awake so this expectorant can do its job better. can't really sleep and cough at once, and it's always a grumpy experience trying to do both. thus, it's time for the holy grail.

love and peace
