Water, water, everywhere
My office, the old one, which I shared with three others, was rained in. We had a weekend of all rain, all the time. It didn't let up. It kept coming down. And down. And down. Two desks were damaged, my own ruined beyond recognition. Two computers were demolished, my own, and RM's. This is not to mention the carpet, the walls, the bookcases, the office chairs...
Fans have been on continuously since then, and a dehumidifier. The wall and carpet of the printer room next door were damaged, the wall and carpet of the office next door were damaged. Fans everywhere, all the time, with much, much noise. The ceiling was pulled down so the crawl spaces could be aired out.
My reason for blogging this at all? Today, there was a note on the door to my old office explaining the reason for keeping the fans going. It mentioned that the walls were still wet, and that the fans were on to "prevent any growth from growing."
And that, my friends, is what needed sharing.
Love and Peace. (and a prayer of thankfulness that i'd been moved to this office for the phd, and was not still residing in old 413.)
