A request

Scenario: You are driving in the left hand lane of traffic, and see a brightly lit arrow ahead directing you to merge right, because the lane is ending. There are a few cars in the right lane, but none ahead of you in the left.

Your reaction:
a. remain in the left lane. if you're quick, you can accelerate faster than the idiot in the right lane, and beat them all!

b. slow down a bit if necessary, looking for a chance to get over in the right lane.

Scenario: You are in the right lane, and discover that you need to turn left up ahead.

Your reaction:
a. swerve between two cars in the left lane--they'll move if they know what's good for 'em!

b. indicate left, watch what you're doing, and move when the coast is clear.

My request: Can we maybe start using blinkers when we want to switch lanes of traffic? Could we maybe all start following the directions instead of nosing in front of others? Maybe we can all start being courteous, and polite when we're driving.

Because let me tell you, those of you who answer "a" to those scenarios above really tick me off. Really. That's the kind of behavior and attitude that causes wrecks. You're not fooling anyone into thinking you didn't notice the lane ended. We all know you're a prick who can't wait in line. And chances are you didn't just forget to signal. You couldn't spare the energy. Please people. Can we not drive like that?

Yeah.

End.
