Good News
Three good things:
The obnoxious people upstairs, the ones that scream and fight all day and have rough sex all night, the ones who throw lit cigarettes at people they see walking toward them on the sidewalk, the ones who tossed a barrette down the sink for some reason, the ones who thunder up and down the stairs and slam doors hard enough to make the windows shake... They have sumbitted their 30 days notice! Last Friday, in fact. I guess having the courtesy officer talk to them three times (I only called twice, so someone else is irritated too), the plumber complain once, and whatever else they don't like finally inspired them to take their annoying selves elsewhere. I anticipate much fighting during the moving process, as that's generally a high-stress activity, and quite a lot of banging and bumping as they move their stuff around. But I can handle that, since it spells the promise of release. They're leaving! Everyone celebrate with me!
Second. I have discovered the source of the flooding, and it is a leaky pipe behind my mirror. I've put in a maintainance request, and the problem should be solved soon. When it is, I can do laundry again, and have fresh towels once more. I'm looking forward to having more than one extra towel. And Charlotte is looking forward to being allowed in the bathroom once more.
Also, Charlotte is now on catster.com, for reasons relating to low-level boredom on my part, and a certain amount of exhibitionism on hers. You can see her here if you've a mind to look. She's only been on for a few minutes, and she's already got friends. Isn't that sweet? She'll be updating her diary whenever something worth writing about comes along.
That's about it for now. I'm heading up to the office to tidy up some stuff, to water a plant, and to try once more to make copies using the copier instead of by hand. But before that, I'll make myself a nice meal of some sort.
