I'm reading a draft where the kid is arguing that America met all of its objectives in Vietnam and decided to pull out since the job was done. Remarkably, this child's counterargument was very well done, while the attempt to disprove fact was shaky. Now, do I tell him he's flat out wrong, and that his argument doesn't hold water, or do I point out that he's chosen a rather large subject to address in 1200 words? I think the latter, though there will certainly be overtones of the former. Sadly, he's already turned in the last draft of the cycle, and there's no hope for him.
More dumb drafts to come, as the Lone Grader finishes up!
